Titan Crane reflecting in water - reproduced by kind permission of Andrew Lee and Clydebank Re-BuiltAt 150ft tall it has stood on the banks of the River Clyde for over 100 years, a symbol of the industrial age. The Titan Crane is a true Scottish landmark. You have a once in a lifetime chance to free-fall abseil this monster structure and raise money for ENABLE Scotland at the same time.

We have two great opportunities for you to abseil the crane this year.

Dinner in the Sky!dinner on crane

The 20th of August will be a team abseil event, for teams of 4, with a chance to win the most  fantastic  ’money can’t buy’ prize.

Two lucky abseil teams will return to the crane on August 28th to have dinner served to them 150ft up in the air, on top of the Titan Crane, courtesy of celebrity chef Jamie Oliver’s Glasgow restaurant – Jamie’s Italian.

Every team entering the 20th August event is in with a chance of winning this amazing prize.

 Decent Into Darkness

nightThe 22nd of October will be the last abseil of the year so to make it even more special we are doing it in the dark!!

The crane will be floodlit to create a stunning backdrop as you descend into a pool of darkness.

It sounds scary but is actually ideal if you are not keen on heights as you can’t see the bottom. Looking out at the lights of Glasgow from the top of the crane is pretty magical, and on a clear night you can see the Erskine Bridge all lit up.

No previous experience is necessary, a dedicated team of expert instructors will be there to talk you through the basics of abseiling, including how to control the speed of your descent. You will be provided with all the abseil equipment, all you need to bring on the day is comfortable, weather appropriate clothing, sensible footwear and perhaps a few friends and family to cheer you on! There is no maximum age limit for the Titan Abseil. The minimum age is 15 and if you are under 18 we require the consent of your parent or guardian before you can abseil. There are no weight restrictions.
